Oh yes we did! ....

So... if you've spied our Facebook page, and our Etsy page, you've by now spotted our new range of resin work.
Yes! We're mixing, casting and designing all the resin work we do now.

Though our resin work won't be *replacing* any of our previous work, it will be alot more easily available...and we'll beable to duplicate it! (but not EXACTLY as with most handmade work).

We hope you'll peruse the store for our very reasonably priced resin work.

Then, if you haven't seen, we're going to be going through with the 20% off discount code on our Etsy right up until the end of February, so you'll beable to get the resin pieces for even less! as well as everything else in our store, even the supply goods.

She_Grim is still busy at work with our new business cards and digital banner, so we can't give you much of a visual update on that just yet, but from what I've seen, it's all going to be too awesome!

We will be at our usual market hangout for the last Saturday of February, 6 days from now, 23 February from 9am until 3pm.
If you're in Gauteng, join us in the tranquil little village of Henley-on-klip at Wyetti Craft Market.
We know you'll LOVE it as much as we do, and if your dog/s is on a leash, bring them with for a village outing!

With that... have a fantastic remainder of this weekend!
See you out and about ;)

NEW and exciting...

Hello... sorry for the silence.

But there's been alot happening!

One of the newest things I've been working on... a resin range of jewellery made and designed by Wonder Struck Inc.
I'm in the process of waiting for some test pieces to come out of the molds during tomorrow, and some finished items will hopefully be up during tomorrow on our Etsy store.
And our products aren't the only change we're busy with.
Our business cards and soon our banner will be revamped by the madness of She_Grim.
With us wanting to get to a point of settling comfortably in our new workspace, in our new market line up for the year. We really do want everything to work together smoothly. There have been hiccups till now, and there'll probably be a few more as we go on into the rest of February (and beyond), but we're ready to take it all on.

Then, my gorgeous friend, fellow crafter and regular market stall neighbour, Heatherlynn (from KopyKat) and I are still working on our project that we've been threatening eachother with for the last 2 and half years... it now officially has a name:  WANDERLAND.
But! more on this later ;)

Lamplight... passion fruit & peach tea...

It's been a while since I've updated, inbetween unpacking boxes, squishing in some free stall space at The Shed and making new things....
But here's a new post!

The workspace... is starting to become to comfortable to work in as I unpack all of the tools and components, making space to hang the finished pieces, making photo space etc.
It's just so great not having to try and fit everything into 2 storage ottomans in a tiny bedroom (unsuccessfully).

The markets... so far we've only been offered two weeks at The Shed and then we'll be back at Wyetti Market on 26 January for the first time in 2013. We're dressing our stall up with lots of red organze ribbon to celebrate the oncoming festivities of Valentines Day ;) ...yea.

The stock... if you've been scouting our Etsy store, you'll notice some new pieces are up.
Please remember that all our pieces are One of A Kind and it's not really possible to replicate any piece EXACTLY..and sometimes not at all.
I have some very exciting new components that *have* come in, that *are* coming in and that have already been used and sold. I've finally found black chain in the same size as my "standard" silver chain that I'm so fond of using (I love this chain because it doesn't really twist on a finished piece and while being worn), but if people ask, I might just have some other chains up for selection for you ;)
But lots more cameos have come in, and you'll see them on our facebook and on our Etsy and Storenvy as we load the newer pieces.

The playlist... we've still been blasting alot of The Pretty Reckless, Biffy Clyro and Norma Jean, but this week has especially been a Queens of the Stone Age week in the car. Missed listening to that band so much, and never realised it till they filled my ears!

Other creatives that we've spotted...
Wonder Struck Inc has been added to a new circle recently on Etsy, by nikithings, I am especially eyeing out a cute little zipper pouch in the store:

;) go peruse Etsy a bit and find some other interesting little stores that would feel great to have some views.

And onward to another week in 2013.
We'll be at The Shed at Green's Greens again this Saturday, we'll try remember to take some pictures for the blog >.<

Blessed be,
Zoo

And 2013 is here...

The start to 2013 was a calming, open arm, warm hug for many of us.

I'm still unpacking though... 16 days away from our first market for 2013. I'll get there, I promise!

Very awesome shamballa style bracelets are being put into stock, loads of really awesome necklaces and earrings. Today is a stock evaluation to see what we're getting rid of, what we're adding, what we're taking to which markets... and basically just to get the value of it all (I'm almost too scared to see what  kind of money is sitting in this room >.< )

It's just part of us becoming more organised, so onward!

Quick updates:

  • Don't forget we have a 20% discount going until the end of January in our Etsy store.
  • We're still 73 days away from target on our Startme campaign, your support would be GREATLY  appreciated to help Heatherlynn and I open our store of handmade goodness. Even R1's go a LONG way to helping us get to AT LEAST 50% of our target by the deadline.
(please note that Startme is a platform working in Rands only)
  • We're weighing the options of continuing on Bigcartel as our traffic there is very low. We're looking at setting up a Storenvy store in it's place (cancelling the Bigcartel in effect). Once this is all sorted out, we'll post the links and do the changes here on the linking tab of our blog.

Plans sometimes change...

Ah well, I've had to postpone my visit to Lydenburg, and have in the meantime, brought the Etsy store out of vacation mode... AND implemented the 20% discount !

The discount will be effective throughout January 2013 (because it's my birthday month and the first month of the new year), because it's great to start on a positive note, right? ;)

I've also been loading a whole bunch of new items onto the Etsy store, so go check out what we have been making!

Our first market for 2013 will be at our usual spot (stall 64), at Wyetti Craft Market, on Saturday the 26th January. Our theme will be VALENTINES! so we'll be dressing the stall up to celebrate the upcoming commercialisation of the day ;)
There's a part of me that wants there to be LOADS of stock to choose from for the market goers, but if you're on Etsy, I wouldn't mind you emptying my stock box ;)

I won't be carrying the discount through to the markets, as usual, but there's sometimes spot discounts where I wack off 50% for those visiting my stall at certain markets at certain times of the year.

Then... house news:
The workroom is starting to take shape now after having some very sweet ladies (Rhoda, our crochet supplier and her sister) help me unpack half of the boxes that filled the living room yesterday.
There's still more to go, but the space is feeling alot more liveable now. Shew.
The 3 boys (puppymonsters, Astraeus, Apollo and Wagner) are making the yard their own. They've completely destroyed the 4 small existing flower beds, so major repair work coming in the next few weeks to revive some plant life in my small garden.
All the curtain are up and with so many boxes gone, visitors can now sit down!
Once the work room/Wonder Struck HQ is a bit more unpacked, I'll take photos for you guys to see where I will be making all the stock and storing the sourced stock.
Fun times ahead!

Now go buy some Etsy goodness from our store and from other fantastic handmade artists!

These are tears of frustration...

Having a rather tear filled day as I go through the pages of STOPRHINOPOACHING, and though my contributions are small and few and far between... I encourage as many of you as possible to please help support this cause.

The rain clouds are gone...

After a couple of days of rain... and an array of muddy paw prints across the house floor... its sunny and its time to do all the domestic duties of washing, packing, sweeping, mopping...

The work room is starting to look so good.
There's double the storage space, double the work space and... I'm going to be testing out the photo space sometime today hopefully.

Some inspiration for crafty workrooms:

Yup... plenty of inspiration out there to work from ;)

The move... one week later

It's Christmas day... MERRY CHRISTMAS readers! ...or happy 25 December.

These 7 days of moving have been a little exhausting. The worst part for me is, that no matter what my work space may look like at any time, I'm actually *really* OCD about the placement of things and knowing where all of my stuff is... so moving is always horrible when I lose track of what boxes are where, under what, haven't been labelled....etc etc. And that's what my house looks like at the moment.

I HAVE managed to place a small corner of my work surface in the kitchen in order.
The dogs' bowls have their places now.
And one table in the work room has been setup (I'm typing from it right now).

With there still a few more things to move from the parentals to here, I'm starting to feel relief that I'm in the new house.
Admittedly my first night (last night) was a bit rough, as I'd only brought the new curtains with me late yesterday and they still weren't ready to hang. Then my 5 year old kettle packed up after boiling it ONCE. 3 light bulbs blew last night (including the bedroom light), and there were no shops open where I could get replacement bulbs before heading to my aunt in Pretoria for the family Christmas get-together.
So I'm working in 2 of the 3 rooms that still have light. I have one more window's curtains to hang tomorrow, and hopefully there'll be shops open so I can get light bulbs.

In the meantime my Etsy store is closed until 5 January, but my work space is packed out and I'm working on new stock!
I'll be photographing and editing new stock, planning markets as ahead as I can for 2013, and... I'll be finishing off Wonder Struck Inc's room!
*exciting*

Enjoy the rest of your Christmas day guys!
